Dear Dr. Lipe and the DC Branch of NLAPW
Thank you for sponsoring me as a first soprano vocalist in the 2006-2007 season of the Congressional Chorus. After an arduous job search, I have regained regular, full-time employment. I am very appreciative that I have benefited by your assistance in maintaining my membership in one of the things that I love the most: singing.
Your kind gesture is encouraging me to "Go Tell It on the Mountain," and I hope to help young people develop their gifts. I have worked in the theatre as a singer and actress and have played the violin since I was a young girl. My studies have included the bassoon, piano, communications work and the opera. I have done freelance writing for several publications and enjoy writing poetry and short vignettes.
I look forward to seeing you at the concerts. The holiday concert is December 17th. I will forward additional information and tickets soon. The chorus will also perform at the Kennedy Center next year for its 20th year! Thank you, again, for your kindness. Certainly, a burst of happiness sprang into my heart when I heard the good news of your generosity from my friend Susan Szulman.
I look forward to meeting you, With best regards,
Sincerely,
Maureen Mitchell
